The Leonora Cemetery is east of the highway and just south of the turn-off to Gwalia.
Mildred Mary Walshaw was born at Yellowdine while her intrepid mother was on a camel trip from the railhead at Southern Cross to join her husband, Daniel Baker, who was mining in the Goldfields. Mildred went on to be a miner for decades herself.
