The Penalty: Film, presentation, music and cocktails

Screening of this classic film of the San Francisco underworld of the 1920s, with live music, presentation and cocktails.

Journey to the San Francisco underworld, where a grim villain reigns over the dark criminal underworld, and innocence becomes the tool of a dastardly plan for revenge.

The Penalty (1920) was Lon Chaney’s breakout film, catapulting him to international stardom. This stunning silent film was also the first Hollywood feature film starring a young Claire Adams, who spent the second half of her life at Mooramong, now a National Trust property in Skipton. Join us for a night of creative gothic cocktails from The Crypt, some silent film history and a live performance by Anna Morley and Tom McGowan, who will be providing a score to a night you will never forget.
