Where did she get that hat? – A Fashion Parade of Hats

10 May 2025

10:00 am ‐ 4:00 pm

SA

Join us in the elegant State Dining Room of Ayers House for an exclusive Hat Parade showcasing a recent donation to the National Trust of South Australia. This unique collection celebrates the artistry of milliner Gwenda Baker, who has been a cornerstone of the Australian millinery scene for decades.

Recognised for her unparalleled expertise, Gwenda Baker was inducted into the Millinery Association of Australia Hall of Fame, a well-deserved honor after managing Miller Anderson’s Millinery Workroom for over 30 years. Her contributions to the craft also include teaching millinery at TAFE and serving as a judge for the Royal Adelaide Show’s Millinery Exhibits for 50 years.

The parade will feature an exquisite range of hats spanning from 1910 to 2000, offering a fascinating glimpse into the evolving styles and techniques. Don’t miss this opportunity to witness the elegance, history, and craftsmanship of some of the finest hats ever created.
