Marie Byles Anniversary Celebration

Join artist Patrick Shirvington for a morning of drawing in the surrounds of the 'Hut of Happy Omen' Ahimsa. Continuing Marie Byles legacy of connection to the natural world. Patrick is a well known artist / illustrator, with his work focusing on the natural world.

With the simple tools of pencil and paper we will explore the sandstone landscape of Marie Byles favourite spot.

Patrick Shirvington’s artwork has always been deeply embedded in drawing. He has been documenting his journey through the natural world for over forty years, recording his observations with pencil on paper to reflect his veneration of the environment. His works are represented in many drawing collections such as the Kedumba Drawing Collection, which John Olsen describes as the most representative collection of drawings of this period, in this country. Two works are included in the Arthur Boyd, Bundanon Collection. Six works in the NSW Library permanent collection. Several drawings from Patrick Shirvington’s recent Tibooburra residency will be included in the upcoming exhibition, Vibrations in Australian Drawing at Cowra Regional Gallery in June.
