Learning from legacy: Healing our Country is a beautiful showcase of inspiring student works exploring the survival of culture through connection to the ancient wisdom of this land and its peoples.
Each year the National Trust partners with Reconciliation NSW to tour the student finalists’ works throughout the state, allowing more schools to get involved and showcase their art and writing works.
On show at historic Brough House, Reconciliation NSW’s Schools Reconciliation Challenge exhibition is comprised of a variety of impactful works from NSW primary and high school students interpreting the theme Learning from legacy: Healing our Country.
This theme explores the deep and enduring legacy of First Nations knowledges and reflect on how colonisation – and its privileging of Western knowledge – has impacted that legacy. Students were asked to consider the profound insights we stand to gain by learning from, embracing, prioritising, and protecting First Nations knowledge.
Don’t miss this unmissable exhibition, featuring an array of visually compelling works that are both inspiring and reflective.
