About us:
The National Trust of Australia (Victoria) (NTAV) is an independent, non-profit organisation supported by a large community base. We are Victoria’s premier heritage and conservation organisation and the major operator of historic places open to the public across Victoria.
About the role:
The National Trust is seeking a Fundraising and Philanthropy Manager to develop the strategy and provide end-to-end management of all NTAV fundraising activity. Responsibilities include:
- building and managing long term relationships with existing, new and potential donors,
- ensuring that donor experience and stewardship is of the highest quality by developing and implementing donor cultivation and stewardship plans,
- developing connections with all levels of government, philanthropy and corporate ensure their new and ongoing relationships with the NTAV remain secure and receptive,
- creating and managing high-quality and successful cases for support and applications for philanthropic, government and/or corporate support, and
- providing reports demonstrating performance against agreed KPIs including detail of an established pipeline, funding application success rates and projected income.
Working closely with our Board, CEO, Executive team and key stakeholders throughout the NTAV, this role will be key in maximising revenue from the philanthropic sector, bequests, grants, corporate sponsorship and donations.
About you:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
- At least five years working with mid-level to major donors and/or bequests in the non-profit sector
- You demonstrate a strong capability for proactively, strategically, and tactically managing a philanthropy portfolio, overseeing progress and risks, plus identifying new avenues to raise funds
- Demonstrated experience developing, managing, and growing large revenue lines
- Proven ability to competently manage significant stakeholder relationships
- Experience of leading small teams and proven ability to coach and develop others
- Advanced interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Demonstrated, confident presentation skills
- A positive, collaborative and ‘can do’ approach with the initiative to work both in team and autonomously in a fast-paced environment
- This role requires flexibility to work outside of usual business hours as required on events important to the NTAV
- Commitment to the mission and values of National Trust of Australia (Victoria)
