Chris Holyday – A Dangerous Coastline

Join us at Mount Flora Regional Museum to hear Chris Holyday talk about Perth's dangerous coastline for this special Community History event for AHF 2025.

The coastline in the Perth area can be idyllic yet treacherous. Chris Holyday talks to us about the tragedies that have occurred along this stretch of dangerous coastline. Chris will talk about historic events such as some early shipwrecks and the many drownings that have occurred from Scarborough to Trigg and Watermans Bay, including the drowning in 1954 of Charles Riley, a Waterman’s Bay resident who died while heroically participating in the rescue of three girls who had been swept out to sea. Bookings are essential as places are limited.
