Cocktails with the Mackinnons at The Shared Table
A celebration of silent movie star Claire Adams and Scobie Mackinnon, their (National Trust) home Mooramong and the music and style of the 1930s. Enjoy created cocktails and canapes, based on their own recipes, an exhibition and presentations, while contributing to the restoration fund.
When this glamorous couple moved to Mooramong, Skipton in 1938 they created a fabulous Hollywood Art Deco home and brought the cocktail hour and much more, to the Western District. You’ll be welcomed to this exceptional restaurant with a glass of champagne and a range of canapes, inspired by original Mooramong recipes and fresh local produce. As music of the 1930s plays, enjoy Cocktails and Mocktails, created with a contemporary twist and view a photographic exhibition of Mooramong. Brief presentations by Heather Robinson, cultural historian and Claire Adams biographer and Susan Pilbeam, museologist, will focus on Claire Adams’ career, the Mackinnon’s love of entertaining, their philanthropy, the property, its collection and its current restoration. This special event is fund raiser for restoration and digitization of the collection and numbers are limited.
