Digging for Treasures in the Perth Hils Pioneer Days

Step into the past and uncover the hidden treasures at the Kalamunda History Village. Discover the charm and history of our beautifully preserved heritage village nestled within the Kalamunda hills. Offering a unique glimpse into the past, showcasing the lifestyle and architecture of a bygone era.

As you explore, you’ll be transported back in time, surrounded by authentic buildings, furnishings and artifacts that tell the stories of those who lived there.
The village has a School, Post Office, General Store and a Train Station with a G118 Locomotive on rails in front of the platform. There are two outstanding family cottage homes, a Blacksmith’s Workshop, Carriage Shed, Orchard Shed and lots more to see and do. Our ‘Unearthed’ exhibit takes you on a journey through time to Statham’s Quarry, revealing the secrets and stories buried beneath the surface. You may like to visit the quarry, located on the old Zig Zag railway line, after your visit to the Village. The quarry is considered a rare example of a stone quarry which has retained physical evidence of its operations and is associated with the development of the quarry industry in WA. For the children’s activities, there are treasures to be dug up at the village which they can use to create a gift to take home.
