How the Surveyors of Australia have changed the world!

'Unearthing' momentous local and world achievements brought about by the brilliance of surveyors whose talents and excellence have left the world with a magnificent collection of landmarks and discoveries.

Enjoy a powerpoint presentation which will relate how the Australia that the world knows today, could not have been brought to the attention of the rest of the world without the many incredible ground-breaking discoveries and mapping of the early explorers and surveyors, who ventured into the unknown southern hemisphere in search of new lands, supposedly full of riches and treasures.

Be amazed to hear about how Australia was finally charted and named, how a NSW Lands Department Surveyor developed rust and drought resistant wheat crops, who the first ANZAC was and how the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House were expertly positioned. Finally, you will learn about two Australians who laid out the Olympic tracks in Melbourne and Sydney, together with the surveyors of the Woomera Rocket Range, the Snowy Mountains Scheme and the world’s tallest buildings.

Morning tea is also included with this presentation.
