RELIVE the 1940s. Explore Australia’s most intact Heritage WW2 Aerodrome.

Listen to the throaty roar of 2 P&W radial engines, as a 1945 vintage DC3 airliner takes off to explore the local countryside or inspect the Woodworkers Guild craftwork within the old maintenance and parachute drying huts, family fun for everyone.

‘Entertainment for Everyone’ is provided by the Ballarat Air Force Association and the City of Ballarat at their Airport, on Saturday 17th, & Sunday 18th of May.

Ballarat Heritage Festival Weekend, opens the hangar doors and many of the historic huts, within this heritage precinct.  Free parking and entrance from 10am to 4pm. A gold coin donation required for entry into the Avro Anson and the Aviation Museums. DC3, vintage Tiger Moth, and ex RAAF CT4 Joy flights, are available for purchase. 1940s is the theme – Antique aircraft, vintage racing cars and military vehicles will be on display. Musical performances by the Pacific Belles on Saturday, and the RAAF Marching Band on Sunday. “Legends of the Sky” theatre group performing the ‘London to Melbourne Air Race’, on Saturday evening, and Sunday afternoon, (by ticket sales) 1 Wireless Air Gunnery School related displays in the restored Officer’s Hut 48, and Museums. WW2 re-enactors, Historic machinery, Vintage cars and motorcycles.
