Tuesday Curatorial – The Forgotten Commandants at King George’s Sound

The Forgotten Commandants at King George’s Sound, 1827-1829: Major Edmund Lockyer and Capt. Collet Barker are well documented but the other two Commandants of the first European settlement are not.

In this Tuesday Curatorial event Malcolm Traill (Research Associate, WA Museum) chats with researcher Lee Davison, who shares his findings on Capt. Joseph Wakefield and Lieut. George Sleeman, two army officers who served their time quietly and effectively in King George’s Sound, but today have passed from the public eye.
