The Forgotten Commandants at King George’s Sound, 1827-1829: Major Edmund Lockyer and Capt. Collet Barker are well documented but the other two Commandants of the first European settlement are not.

George Sleeman, two army officers who served their time quietly and effectively in King George’s Sound, but today have passed from the public eye.
